Karen Rohde, Managerial Assistant, Client Care Coordinator/Supervisor, Inventory Manager
Karen is a native New Yorker who spent 15 years in Florida who came to Village in January of 2007. Having a bachelors degree in Sociology and a diversified background including teaching, holding a real estate license, bookkeeping, managing a construction company and processing documents for a law firm, brings a unique balance to the team and assists in her responsibilities. She and her husband John share their lives with their daughter Kaylin, a dog, 2 cats and a horse. Karen enjoys camping, hiking, cooking, kayaking, gardening and traveling with her family.
Juniper (June) Corum, Client Care Representative, Event Coordinator
Juniper was born and raised in Hampton Roads, VA. She moved to Knoxville in 2008 to marry her husband, Charlie. June joined our team in 2009 with over six years experience in the veterinary field and has been everything from an assistant to an office manager. Juniper has a love for all things theatrical. She has been performing since a very young age and has quite a few starring roles in local productions under her belt. In fact she spends most of her free time as the theater director for her churches student ministry. Besides that her hobbies include writing songs, cooking, trying exotic foods, photography, reading and would like to eventually own a therapy dog when she has more time to invest in it. The Corums share their home with a Maine Coon mix named Glock, a Pit Terrier mix named Cadance, a guinea pig named SWAT and a rat named Buddy Holly.
Emily Ellison, Client Care Representative, ICSB Coordinator, Veterinary Assistant
Emily Ellison has been a Knoxville resident since 2001 and joined the Village team in 2009 with five years experience in the veterinary field. She, her boyfriend Rob and son Braden share their lives with Doberman, Annie and Persian, Ace. In her spare time Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, reading, college football, horseback riding and shopping.
Therese (Terry) Smook, Client Care Representative
Terry was born and rasied in England but lived in South Africa for many years, worked in a veterinary clinic there, married an Italian and had two daughters. She moved to Knoxville in 2002 and as of recent has completed the process of becoming a naturalized citizen and is now 'Proud to be an American'. She has five grandchildren and the only children left at home now are two feline furried named Sushi and Naartjie. Terry's interests at the present include hiking, horse backriding, cooking, and watching her husband do the gardening.
Tracy Teaster, Client Care Representative
Tracy joined our team in the summer of 2011. She recently moved back to the area from Nashville where she worked for five years as a receptionist in a busy practice north of the city. She is happy to call Knoxville home again. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, spending time on the lake, eating sushi and relaxing (though with a "Brady Bunch" of animal to tend to there is little time for relaxing!) She and her boyfriend, Josh, combined their households to total five. With their three cats: Charlie, Mimi, Lulu and two dogs: Molly and Lyla there is never a dull moment.

Shannon Warrington, Licensed Veterinary Technician, ICSB Technician, Technician Supervisor
Shannon is a graduate of Blue Ridge College in Weyers Cave, VA. With approximately 10 years of experience in the veterinary field, she joined Village in June 2008. Married for 17 years, Shannon has 2 "furry" children, William and Hoppy, both FIV rescue kitties. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys traveling, running, cooking and is a HUGE football and UFC fan.
Marcy Dochtermann Roberto, Licensed Veterinary Technician Marcy is originally from Maine. She holds a degree in Veterinary Technology from the Vermont Technical College and has been a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) since 2006. She is also a member of the National Association for Veterinary Technicians. With over 8 years experience, she has been with Village Veterinary Clinic since 2003. Marcy has two cats, Tucker and Trotter and a new kitten named Revi. During her spare time, she enjoys reading, cross-stiching, and spending time with her friends.
Nicole Shuey, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Nicole is a native of Highlands Ranch, CO. She has lived in Arizona, California, South Dakota, Florida, and Nebraska. Nicole graduated from Northeast College in Norfolk, NE in 2007, before moving to Knoxville. Nicole loves to travel and has been to most all of the states as well as The Bahamas, Puerto Rico and The Caribbean . She enjoys all outdoor activities including biking, hiking, and running. When she is not doing that, she enjoys hanging out with her friends and her two cats, Squishy and Gnarly.
Kristin Burge, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Kristin is a native Southern Californian that recently relocated to Tennessee. She attended Pierce College in Woodland Hills, CA and received her Associates of Science degree in 2000. Although she's been in the veterinary field for approximately 13 years, she became a registered veterinary technician in 2000. She's worked at several animal hospitals from daytime practices to emergency hospitals, in which she received an array of knowledge helping critical care patients. Kristin lives with her husband Mark, and their two daughters, Madeline and Phoebe. They also have several critters in their household; Samantha and Macy (kitty cats), Chiquita Belle (doggie) and Ebie (anole lizard). When Kristin has spare time she loves to spend it with her family, exploring and traveling to new places and watching old movies and Hell's Kitchen.
Marilou Jones, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Marilou moved from upstate New York and joined Village in February of 2010. She received her associated in biology from Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY. She then attended Cedar Valley College in Texas and received her Veterinary Technology degree. Marilou has worked in the field for over 13 years and became a licensed technician in 2007. She lives with her husband George and cat Milo. They plan on getting two pugs in the near future. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, fishing and travel, Her favorite place to visit is anywhere near the ocean.

Lynn Nard, Veterinary Assistant
Lynn was born and raised in Nashville, TN and is the youngest of four children. She moved to Knoxville in 2005 to attend UT. She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and an Associates in Small Business Management. With over seven years experience in the field Lynn plans to continue her education working towards a degree in Veterinary Medicine. Lynn has two adorable pekingese, Brodie and Mirra, and a very hyper Schnauzer mix, Hitch. Veegee is a very old but sweet guinea pig and the last to join her pack is Joker and abandoned domestic short haired cat. In her free time, she likes to go camping, hiking, boating, and fishing.
Laura Walker, Veterinary Assistant, ICSB Assistant
Laura is a native of Knoxville, Tennessee. She received her bachelors degree in Environmental Studies from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She just applied to The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine where she plans to study large animal medicine. Laura has two dogs, Zuri, a sweet little terrier mix and Nestle, a very energetic border collie. In her spare timeshe enjoys spending time with her friends, hiking, biking and working on her house.

Catherine Moe, Veterinary Assistant
Catherine grew up around Nashville, TN. She moved to Knoxville to attend The University of Tennessee and graduated with her Bachelors in Animal Science in 2008. She is currently in her third year of veterinary school at UTCVM. In her limited spare time she enjoys horseback riding and traveling. She shares her house with her dog, Callie and her cat, Lyla.
Tate York, Veterinary Assistant
Tate was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. While completing his Bachelor's degree in Science at Winthrop University, he began working at a local veterinary clinic. He started working as a Kennel Assistant and eventually worked his way to Kennel Manager and finally Veterinary Assistant before graduating and moving to Knoxville in the summer of 2011. He joined the VVMC team July 2011 and brings two years of experience with him. Tate loves spending time with his wife Kelly and their two cats Charolette and Louie. he enjoys hiking, fishing and South Carolina Gamecock athletics.
Laura Emmons, Veterinary Assistant
Laura was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. She moved to Knoxivlle in 2008 to pursue her Bachlor's degree at the University of Tennessee. She will be graduating May 2012 with her degree in Logistics and Marketing Management. Laura joined our team September 2011 with six years of experience in the veterinary field. She enjoys spending time with her family,friends, boyfriend and yorkie Lola. When she isn't in classes or at work she likes to spend her leisure time reading,cooking, hiking, working out and learning to country line dance.
Kayla Branton, Veterinary Assistant
Kayla is a native from Ravenna, Ohio. She moved to Knoxville in 2008 and is pursuing her Veterinary Techician degree from Penn Foster College. She joined our practice January 2012 with two years experience in the veterinary field and many years of practice volunteering at animal shelters and fostering young dogs in need. Kayla lives with her two wonderful dogs Jake, a black lab and Mable, a hound dog. In her spare time she enjoys baking, outdoor activities, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends.

Mark Miracle, Kennel Caregiver
Mark joined Village in July of 2010. He is currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program through San Juan College. Before coming to Village, Mark worked at Young Williams Animal Center. His family consists of his wife, Liana, five dogs, three cats and a hamster. Mark and his wife foster dogs and cats through the shelter or rescue groups. In his spare time Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and critters. He also enjoys reading, watching great movies, running and coffee.
