Dealing with the loss of a pet can be a very difficult experience. The University of Tennessee, College of Veterinary Medicine has Veterinary Social Work, a program offering the Pet Loss Support Group to help those experiencing the grief process.
The group meetings are at no charge and are designed for anyone whose pet has died or is terminally ill. They are held the first and third Tuesday of every month from 6:30 p.m-8:00 p.m. on the UT agriculture campus at the Forest Products Center, 2506 Jacob Drive. If you are interested, please contact the Veterinary Social Work office at (865) 755-8839 or visit www.vet.utk.edu/socialwork for more information. The dates for 2008 are January 22, February 5 and 19, March 4 and 18, and April 1 and 15.
We would like to offer you an opportunity to post a memorial of your pet. If you would like an obituary posted, email us at contact@villagevetclinic.com and put OBITUARY in the header. Please include your name, your pets name, a picture of your pet, and whatever brief words you would like to say.

| Bailey Proctor 10/2000-04/2008 | We can't know why the lily has so brief a time to bloom
in the warmth of sunlight's kiss upon its face.
Before it folds its fragrance in
and bids the world good-night to rest its beauty in a gentler place.
But we can know that nothing that is loved is ever lost,
and no one who has ever touched a heart can really pass away
because some beauty lingers on in each memory of which they've been a part.

| | Dagny Proctor 11/2006-01/2008 | I would wash the dust of the world in a soft green flood;
Here between sea and sea in the fairy wood,
I have found a delicate wave-green solitude.
Here, in the fairy wood, between sea and sea,
I have heard the song of a fairy bird in a tree,
And the peace that is not in the world has flown to me.

| | General Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard "Beau | Heaven was blessed with a pure soul Thursday, when Beau left us after 93 wonderful dog years (14 years, 4 months human time) to cross the Rainbow Bridge and live with his beloved Papaw. A self-taught dog with many accomplishments, Beau educated his humans to the best of his ability; any behaviors perceived as faults by some were the faults of his humans. Beau was skilled in all sports that involved a ball, especially golf, tennis and baseball.
Beau had soft golden brown fur, large expressive brown eyes lined in black, and a pencil-thin black mustache. Loved by all who met him, he was 75 pounds of impressive hair-making machine. Always smiling, never ill tempered, tail wagging at 50 mph, Beau was a delightful best friend all the days of his life.
An excellent traveler, Beau enjoyed his trips to Louisiana and the wilds of the forest, where he chased deer, turkey, and bunnies. His military background allowed him to be an excellent security dogfriends and strangers alike were met by fierce barking, and then greeted with a wagging tail.
Beau was a gallant warrior to the end, losing his battle with degenerative neuropathy compounded by two bouts of cancer on April 9, 2009. His spirit never wavered, but his poor body just gave out. Special appreciation and thanks go to his loving doctors, Dr. Lively, Dr. Rockroth, Dr. Mays, and Dr. Goodrich, and the gentle vet technicians at Village Veterinary.
