Visit Our Veterinary Pharmacy for Prescription Medications
& Pet Care Products

Our pharmacy is a vital and integral part of our practice at Village Veterinary Medical Center. It provides our clients and their pets with the latest technology, convenience, and the correct medications at a competitive price. Any prescription medication purchased from our hospital has been inspected and approved by the FDA and manufactured and packaged according to U.S. government regulations.

Pet Medication Refills

To refill many veterinary prescriptions and prescription foods, an annual examination, blood test, or other procedure may be required for your pet’s safety. For faster service, we recommend you call ahead with your refill request prior to pick-up.

If we do not have your pet’s medication or special diet in stock, we will gladly order it for you. Most medication orders arrive within 48 hours. Orders of prescription diets arrive on a weekly basis. We do try to stock all prescription diets according to your usage and needs, but please call a week before you run out of a prescription food to ensure we have what your pet needs on hand, minimizing any need to use an alternative diet.

A Note About Antibiotics

You may be aware of emerging disease threats such as MRSA, MRSI, and flesh-eating bacteria. We see these strains of dangerous bacteria in veterinary medicine as well. Therefore, we cannot fill requests for antibiotics without your pet being seen.

If a condition is not responding to antibiotics as it should, or if the condition is recurring, we may need to perform a skin, ear, or urine culture to check for possible antibiotic resistance. Underlying allergies and hormonal conditions also lead to recurring infections. Please be patient if your pet experiences these frustrating repeat infections and understand why we cannot simply refill antibiotics over the phone. Thank you for your understanding.

If you have questions about refilling a prescription, please contact the pharmacy.

Product Promotions and Guarantees

Village Veterinary Medical Center makes our clients aware of any manufacturers’ promotions and rebates available, resulting in greater savings. Ask during your appointment or at the reception desk for more information.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers will only honor product guarantees when medications are prescribed by, and purchased from, your pet’s veterinarian. Please ask at the pharmacy about guarantees on Interceptor, Frontline, and all of our prescription diets.

Clients on our email list will occasionally receive special coupons from the manufacturer. We never sell or share our email list with any manufacturer, but we are able to review all offers and decide if they are right for our clients before participating. If you are not receiving emails from us, please call so we may set up your account.

Outside Internet Pharmacies

Please contact us regarding use of other Internet pharmacies, as some have dubious business practices. We recommend you check an Internet pharmacy’s reputation by looking for the Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites (VIPPS) seal of approval. VIPPS is a service of the National Association of Boards Pharmacy and its seal of approval identifies those online pharmacies that are appropriately licensed to practice pharmacy via the Internet.

Large box stores are trying to steal business from hometown veterinarians in a way we cannot compete. Please consider supporting local businesses when shopping for your pet’s medication and nutritional needs.

“The entire staff truly cares about the health and quality of life of their client’s pets... and the awareness of the feelings of the pet owner. In this day of awful or non-existent “customer service,” this Clinic proves daily that care and compassion can come naturally. One could not ask for more... ”

—Judy, Vonore, TN

“From the greeting you receive opening the double doors into the bright airy reception, to the detailed, kind compassionate care given to every animal and their humans, you will feel as if you have come home to your pet’s family.”

—Linda Willard

“The caliber of the medical staff is exceptional. Even going beyond the education and the experience of the staff is their philosophy of superior patient care. The staff treats our pets as they would their own.”

—Gerry Wright

“I have complete confidence in the judgment of the veterinarians. They have gotten to know me and my feelings are considered when treatment options are presented with the final decision being mine.”

—Nancy Tennison
